One of the most visible and consistent among all of the Novi Athletic Boosters’ fund-raising programs is our concessions program. Driven entirely by “volunteer power,” the program is the opportunity for parents from all sports teams to share in the work of the Boosters club, which funds requests each year from all teams for gifts of uniforms and special equipment.
The Boosters operates full-service concession stands at four locations: Wildcats Stadium, Meadows Stadium, Novi Middle School Stadium and the Performance Gymnasium Concessions Stand. With the use of the club’s golf cart, concession items are also provided at additional venues.
Parents from all Novi teams are expected to take their turns working concessions. At the beginning of each season, teams are provided with a list of dates for which they will be responsible for filling all volunteer slots. Parents are scheduled to volunteer during dates and times when their children’s team will not be competing. For example, Pom Pon parents might be scheduled to volunteer during JV and Freshman Volleyball games, and JV Lacrosse parents might work the stand during Varsity Lacrosse games.
All parents of athletes, newcomers and seasoned varsity parents alike, are encouraged to volunteer for slots. A member of the Boosters board or a NAB committee chair is assigned for each event and will help with opening and closing the stand, assist with food preparation and set up and provide instructions.
