The Boosters helped prepare Novi High School spring sports teams for strong seasons by funding more than $16,000 in athletic requests during its Feb. 8 meeting. Eight spring teams, including the newly formed Girls Lacrosse team, will benefit from a share of the gifts, totalling $16,425.
The Boys and Girls Track & Field team will receive uniform fill-ins, freelap timing system, high-jump standards and crossbars, an EZ-Up tent frame and weight bags at a total cost of $4,850. The Girls Tennis team will receive a gift of $1,400 for tennis skirts.
For the Boys Lacrosse team, the club has approved $4,500 for the purchase of backpacks, helmets, lacrosse balls, a rebounder and helmet decals. Additionally, the Boosters allocated $900 for the purchase of lacrosse goals with nets to benefit the boys team and the new Girls Lacrosse team. The Boosters may revisit request funding for the girls team at the March meeting for any equipment needs that are not covered by the school district.
